What a great video. Looks like someone gave the wheel too many ugga duggs and the hub failed.
As a passing note, I spend a lot of time time in Alaska/Horizon Dash-8 Q400 models flying between Kalispell, Seattle and Portland. Never had anything like this happen.

A shorter version of this got posted yesterday. Definitely not what you want to see when you look out of the window.
In any event, it’s been quite a while since I’ve flown on a Dash 8. The wheels stayed on:
Though we were delayed because the baggage cart got stuck in the snow.

They are phasing out the Horizon Dash 8's for Horizon and Skywest E-175 jets. They seat the same number of people but they get class configuration, 2 toilets, better air speed and longer range. I usually fly premium class on the E-175 and it’s quite nice. Like a mini 737 or mini A320.

I used to fly on Dash-8s between Erie and Philly a few times a year. I like those planes. They may be slow and loud, but in snowy windy weather you want to be on a Dash-8. In those conditions, if you were booked on a CRJ, you were likely staying put.

I like the E-Jets, not having middle seats makes them feel much less cramped than the 6 across mainline airliners, even if the seats are slightly smaller.

*looks outside....
Yep.
United is the only one flying CRJ’s in to kalispell anymore. I am not a fan of CRJ’s or united.

It depends on configuration. For some reason the Alaska/Horizon jets seem to have a bit more room than the Delta (Skywest) jets.

I’m more comfortable behind a couple big props and some PT 6 engines than in just about any other aircraft, if I had to choose just one.

Can’t believe they saw the wheel sparking during taxi and didn’t say anything.

Dash 8 and landing gear failure are an iconic duo

I like how on the third incident they decided to shut down the engine on the offending side so high speed propelled prop bits didn’t fly through the air and impale people in the plane.
